AVON, Ohio – The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, erased an 11-0 deficit at Sprenger Health Care Stadium on Tuesday evening, and scored eight times in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap an incredible comeback in a 12-11 victory over the Windy City Thunderbolts. The win for the Crushers (43-48) snapped a three-game losing streak, while the loss for the Thunderbolts (48-43) was their third in their last four games. The night began with back-to-back base hits in the top of the first inning from Keenyn Walker and Coco Johnson. A double steal put runners at second and third with nobody out, when Tim Zier grounded out to second, bringing in Walker in the process. The next batter, Larry Balkwill, belted a two-run homer to left, his 18th of the season to give the T-Bolts a 3-0 lead. Windy City was able to repeat their success in the top of the second, with another three-run frame to take a 6-0 lead. Adam Quintana issued three straight one out walks to load the bases for Johnson, who drove in a run with a sacrifice fly-out to right.
