GOLDEYES’ ROMANSKI NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

They won the American Association’s North Division crown, and placed a league-high four players on the American Association Postseason All-Star team. One of those, OF Josh Romanski, stood out above the rest. Romanski has been selected as the American Association’s 2017 Player of the Year. The award was voted upon by league field managers and media relations staff. Entering Monday’s action, Romanski is tied for third in the American Association with a .327 batting average. He also is tied for second among league leaders in RBI, having driven in 81. Additionally, Romanski has accumulated 27 doubles and 11 home runs in 2017. He was selected as an American Association Midseason All-Star, and notched two hits in the July 25 American Association/Can-Am League All-Star Game in Ottawa, Ontario. One of Romanski’s first highlights of 2017 came on back-to-back days in May. On May 23, he hit two home runs and drove in four runs in a 7-3 win over the Salina Stockade. A day later, on May 24, he was 4-for-6 with a home run, four RBI, and three runs scored in a 16-0 win over Salina.…
