Box Score | Photo Gallery UTICA, Mich. – Ryan Smith homered in the top of the ninth inning and left-handed pitcher Dylan Collett earned his second save in as many days to lead the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers (8-9) past the Eastside Diamond Hoppers (9-6), 4-3, on Sunday at Jimmy John’s Field. Robb Paller went 2-for-5 with a home run and a double, while James Battley went 2-for-4 to help pace the Beavers offensively. Right-handed pitcher Cameron Mackenzie made the start and tossed 5.0 innings, striking out three batters. RHP Brian Heldman picked up the win in relief, throwing 1.0 inning. Josh McAdams led the offensive charge for the Diamond Hoppers, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. The Beavers scored four runs, on 11 hits, and had no errors, while the Diamond Hoppers scored three runs, on six hits and committed no errors.
