AVON, Ohio — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, used the trio of Steve Hagen, Justin Sinibaldi and Chandler Jagodzinski to toss a two-hit shutout on Wednesday evening, as they defeated the River City Rascals, 3-0 at Sprenger Health Care Stadium. The win for the Crushers (27-34) marked their third shutout victory of the season, while the loss for the Rascals (33-29) brought their four game winning streak to an end. Hagen (4-4) was sensational for the Crushers, tossing seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball while striking out eight batters in the process. It marked the second time this season that he’s gone seven innings or more and didn’t allow a run. Both teams spoiled chances to score over the first three innings of the contest, before the Crushers plated the first run in the bottom of the fourth. Connor Simonetti started the inning with a triple to right field which bounced by a sliding Braxton Martinez and went all the way to the wall.
