Ty Moore and Mason Klotz Take Home Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards

Gateway Grizzlies pitcher Mason Klotz and Schaumburg Boomers position player Ty Moore were named Frontier League Pitcher and Players of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.   Mason Klotz came to Gateway from a trade with Lake Erie on July 27, 2018.  He earned his honors while pitching for the Lake Erie Crushers where he went 1-0 while pitching seven innings without allowing a run.  Klotz also struck out five batters while only allowing two hits in a complete game.   Prior joining the Gateway Grizzlies, Klotz spent the previous two years for the Lake Erie Crushers where he complied a 4-6 record while posting a 3.67 earned run average in 25 games with 10 of those being starts.  The Southeastern Louisiana University alum is in his second year of professional baseball and has compiled a 3-3 record in six starts. Klotz has struck out 35 batters over 45 innings pitched along with throwing one shutout.   Ty Moore earned his honors this week by leading the Frontier League in hitting with a .517 batting average.
