Traverse City Walks Off Schaumburg to Series Victory

TRAVERSE CITY, MI- The Traverse City Beach Bums(26-27) were down to their last strike twice in the ninth but upended the Schaumburg Boomers(27-26) by a final score of 4-3, taking the rubber game of this weekend’s series.   For the third night in a row, Schaumburg got the lead off man on and brought him in to score. Tonight, Jack Parenty came in on a Ty Moore ground out for a 1-0 Boomers lead. With one out in the fourth, Isaac Benard and Will Kengor hit back-to-back singles, the second moving Benard to third. Steve Lohr drove him home with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at one. Schaumburg responded immediately in the top of the fifth when Parenty drove in a run on a single. Zack Weigel followed the next inning with a solo homer for a 3-1 Boomers lead.   With one out in the ninth inning, Luke Lowery picked up a walk and Alexis Rivera singled, putting the tying run on base. After Orlando Rivera replaced Alexis at first, and with two outs, Connor Oliver walked to load the bases. Kendall Patrick followed with a walk of his own to pull the Bums within one then…
