Traverse City Tops Lake Erie 5-4 to Take Series Opener

AVON, OH- The Traverse City Beach Bums(8-8) trailed the Lake Erie Crushers(10-6) by one heading into the ninth, but Will Kengor hit a two-run double, leading the Bums to a 5-4 win.   Lake Erie pulled ahead early in the game on an RBI single by Conner Simonetti, and an RBI groundout by Brady Conlan, making it 2-0 after one. The Crushers added one in the second when Dane Hutcheon scored on an error. With one out in the fourth, Isaac Benard walked then moved to third when Kengor doubled to right. Luke Lowery drove him home with an RBI single then Kengor scored on a sacrifice fly by Alexis Rivera.   The Crushers responded in the bottom of the inning when Cameron Newell plated a run on a groundout to make it a 4-2 game. With two outs in the top of the ninth, Arby Fields walked then moved to second on Benard infield hit.
