Traverse City Shuts Out Schaumburg In Series Win

TRAVERSE CITY, MI- The Traverse City Beach Bums(33-41) used four pitchers and a big third inning to clinch a series victory, winning tonight against the Schaumburg Boomers(37-38), 7-0.   With two outs in the first inning, the Beach Bums put together their first rally of the game. Will Kengor and Luke Lowery were issued back-to-back walks then Steve Lohr and Alexis Rivera hit back-to-back RBI singles for a 2-0 Traverse City advantage.   In the third, Ryan Kemp and Isaac Benard led off with singles then Kengor walked to load the bases. Two batters later, Lohr drove in two on a fielder’s choice with Benard scoring the second run on a heads up base running play. Alexis Rivera reached on an infield hit, Noah McGowan hit an RBI single, and Connor Oliver plated a run on a double, giving the Bums a 6-0 lead.   Oliver led off the sixth with a walk then moved to second on a Ryan Kemp single to center. Two batters later, Will Kengor ripped a single into right field, scoring Oliver, making it a 7-0 game. From there, the bullpen combination of Tyler Barss, Augie Gallardo, and Justin Finan held the Boomers scoreless.  …
