Traverse City Offense Leads To Win Joliet

JOLIET, IL- The Traverse City Beach Bums(36-46) used a huge start to blow out the Joliet Slammers(47-35) in the opener of this weekend’s three game set by a final score of 10-1.   Alexis Rivera and Noah McGowan started it off with walks in the second, then, two batters later, Ryan Kemp singled to load the bases. Josh Hauser drew a walk for the Beach Bums’ first run of the game. Orlando Rivera followed and slapped a two-run double down the left field line for a 3-0 lead. After Hauser scored on a wild pitch, Isaac Benard scored on an error then both Alexis Rivera and Connor Oliver hit RBI doubles for an 8-0 lead.   The Slammers got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Trenton Hill scored on a wild pitch. In the fifth, with two out, Hauser was hit by a pitch then stole second, and then scored on a single by Orlando Rivera. Ryan Kemp led off the seventh with a single then Hauser was beaned for the second time in the game. Two batters later, Benard plated Rivera with a sacrifice fly.   Matt Murphy picked up the win for the Beach…
