Traverse City Hits Six Homers In Victory Over Gateway

SAUGET, IL- The Traverse City Beach Bums(30-28) put together a four run ninth inning, earning their sixth consecutive series win in tonight’s 9-5 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies(25-36).   After a scoreless 1st, Steve Lohr led off the second with a solo home run, his fifth of the season. Three batters later, Connor Oliver cranked a solo bomb down the right field line, doubling the Traverse City advantage. Gateway got a run back in the third when Paul Russo singled in a run. In the fourth, Alexis Rivera and Luke Lowery hit back-to-back solo homers, pushing the lead to 4-1. In the bottom of the inning, Blake Brown hit a two-run homer and Brent Sakurai hit an RBI single, tying the game at four.   With one out in the sixth inning, Jeff Cardenas slammed a solo home run over the centerfield wall, giving the Grizzlies their first lead of the series.
