ThunderBolts Open Second Half With 7-1 Win

WASHINGTON, PA – Jake Fisher did not allow an earned run in his eight innings and Coco Johnson reached base five times as they guided the ThunderBolts to a 7-1 win over the Washington Wild Things at Wild Things Park Friday night. Washington (28-23) got on the board first thanks to a couple of first inning errors. Rashad Brown singled and James Harris reached on a Tim Zier misplay to put two on with no outs. They both advanced on another error before Kane Sweeney’s sacrifice fly made it 1-0. The ThunderBolts (29-22) responded with two runs in the third. Ransom LaLonde singled and Coco Johnson doubled him in to tie the score. Johnson crossed the plate on a Zier single, giving the Bolts their first lead. LaLonde doubled in the fifth and scored on a Johnson single, extending the lead to 3-1. After the first two batters reached in the first inning, Fisher retired 15 in a row. He ran into trouble in the sixth, though, as the Wild Things loaded the bases on two singles and an error.
