ThunderBolts Even Series with Rout Over Lake Erie

AVON, OH – The ThunderBolts scored six runs in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie with the Lake Erie Crushers and capture game two of the series 7-1 at Sprenger Stadium Tuesday night. Jordan Dean hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning to give the Crushers (7-10) a 1-0 lead. The next two batters singled to put men at the corners with only one out but Zac Westcott struck out Sean Hurley and Connor Sullivan was caught stealing to end the threat. Westcott did not allow a hit past the first inning. Jordan Kurokawa retired the first nine batters he faced for Lake Erie but the ThunderBolts (11-6) got to him in the fourth. Keenyn Walker doubled and scored on a two-out Tim Zier single to tie it up. The Bolts broke through in the sixth, taking their first lead of the series. Walker hit a leadoff triple and scored on a Coco Johnson base hit to make the score 2-1. Blair Beck singled and Zier walked to load the bases in front of David Kerian, who singled home two more runs.
