Washington Wild Things outfielder James Harris and starting pitcher Chase Cunningham were named Frontier League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.   James Harris earned his second player of the week honors, also won September 3,2017, by posting a .458 batting average driving in 12 in the last six games. Harris also scored eight runs while hitting two homeruns, two doubles, one triple and stealing four bags. Harris also hit safely in all six games last week for the Wild Things helping them to a 6-0 record and a three-game lead in the East Division standings.   Prior to joining the Wild Things, Harris spent time with the Tampa Bay Rays as well as the Oakland Athletics. Harris who was drafted in the first round of the 2011 Major League Draft by Tampa Bay, has spent time at all levels of the minor leagues with his highest stint coming in 2015 with Triple-A Nashville (Oakland A’s).
