JOLIET, IL — Led by a strong showing from Clayton Harp, the Joliet Slammers knocked off the Schaumburg Boomers on Friday night in the first of a three-game home series. Following three scoreless innings, the Boomers brought in the first run on a single to right field from Chase Dawson, bringing in Quincy Nieporte from third. The Slammers answered quickly, driving in their first run on a single to left from London Lindley that brought in Oliver Nunez from second. The Slammers failed to add another, and the 4th ended knotted at 1-1. Taking the lead in the bottom of the 5th, the Slammers scored on a single from Clayton Harp, bringing in Dash Winningham from second.
