Roth Wins No. 100 as Lake Erie Splits with Traverse City

TRAVERSE CITY, MI. — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, opened their series against the Beach Bums with a highly contested 2-0 victory before dropping a tough 4-3 decision in game two. Justin Sinibaldi made his first start of the season in game one. He went four innings while striking out four and allowing just two hits. He ended his outing by retiring the last eight men he faced. Traverse City had their ace in Jordan Desguin (5-1) on the mound. He was dealing through the first five innings and had yet to allow a hit. Bryan DeLaRosa led off the sixth with a double but was thrown out after Cameron Newell reached on a fielder’s choice. Aaron Hill followed with a single after Newell stole second and the Crushers had men on the corners. A wild pitch from Desguin allowed Newell to score the first run. The insurance came from Kewby Meyer who singled home Hill, making it 2-0. Max Biedrzycki (4-0) who had taken over in the fifth inning got the first two outs in the sixth before Louis Cohen took over.
