WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington Wild Things [16-14] defeated the River City Rascals [16-14] with yet another walk off, winning 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, to win the series against the fellow wild-card holder of the Frontier League. Both teams used a plethora of pitchers, thanks to 46 minute long rain delay during the fourth inning, that saw relievers be cycled throughout the game from there on out. Right-handed pitcher Aaron Burns (0-0) went 3.2 innings for Washington, allowing just one run on one hit while striking out three. Right-handed pitcher Davis Adkins (2-1) got the win for the Wild Things, while right-handed pitcher Nick Kennedy (0-1) got the loss and the blown save for the Rascals. The scoring started in the second inning, when left fielder Kenny Peoples-Walls hit a sacrifice fly to score first baseman Kane Sweeney and catcher Kyle Pollock singled to score right fielder Hector Roa, to make the game 2-0 in favor of the Wild Things after two innings.
