Otters Bounce Back With Walk-off Win Against Wild Things

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Evansville Otters fell to the Washington Wild Things 10-5 in the completion of a suspended game Saturday at Bosse Field in front of 2,785, but the Otters responded with an 11-10 walk-off win in the second game of the doubleheader. The Otters began play with a 2-0 lead from the suspended June 18 game, with a two-run home run from Dane Phillips. The home run officially becomes Phillips’ 10th homer of the season. Washington broke through for seven runs in the fourth inning off four hits. In the fifth, Washington’s Kyle Pollock added another run with a solo home run to give the Wild Things an 8-2 lead. Evansville responded in the top of the sixth with two runs of their own, including a solo home run from Josh Allen. The Wild Things had back-to-back one run frames in the seventh and eighth, extending the lead to 10-4. Phillips had an RBI double in the ninth. Washington’s Trevor Bradley picked up the win and Shane Weedman took the loss for Evansville. In the scheduled contest, Lance Montano hit a walk-off single to left field in the 10th to snap the Otters skid. The Wild Thing started…
