Evansville Otters owner Wilfred C. “Bill” Bussing III was inducted into the Evansville Regional Business Hall of Fame Thursday for his outstanding contributions to free enterprise in the community. Bussing was inducted in a morning ceremony alongside Richard W. “Dick” Shymanski and John C. Schroeder. Business excellence, inspiring leadership, social responsibility, vision and innovation are among the criteria for induction and Bussing joins past laureates that include the namesake of Bosse Field, Benjamin Bosse. Bussing and his family have owned the Evansville Otters since 2001 and he has served in a variety of roles outside of the franchise. His roles in the community have included president of the Bussing-Koch Foundation, Cecil A. and Mabel Lene Hamman Foundation and Notre Dame Club of the Tri-State. In addition, he has been the director of the Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation, a University of Evansville trustee and board member for the Catholic Education Foundation among other responsibilities.
