SAUGET, Ill. – Lake Erie’s Juan Caballero and Schaumburg’s David Harris have been named Week 14 Frontier League Pitcher and Player of the Week as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Juan Caballero of the Lake Erie Crushers, earns his first Pitcher of the Week honor after shutting out East Division leader, Schaumburg last Friday night. The second year righty registered a completed game-shutout against the top hitting Frontier League offense. Caballero struck out the first four batters in the lineup twice before finishing with ten total strikeouts in the contest. He allowed just two hits and walked four. The Crushers won the match-up 14-0. Caballero owns a 5-2 record on ten starts for the Crushers this season. He registered his third shutout on the season which brings his ERA to 3.28 (10th overall, 60.1 IP). He also has fifty strikeouts. The 6’4 starter is in his second year in the Frontier League (both with Lake Erie) after spending 2012 through 2015 in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. His career ERA is 3.43 in the Frontier League in thirty seven total appearances with one-hundred and four strikeouts.
