Lake Erie Tops Washington On Walk-off Home Run

AVON, OHIO. — The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, kept their playoff hopes alive in walk-off fashion on Saturday night in a 6-5 win over Washington. Zach Racusin homered in the ninth inning to lift Lake Erie to their 49th win of the season. Lake Erie got out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Joel McKeithan singled home Nick Roark from third base. The Crushers would then make it 2-0 in the fourth when Roark singled to score Dalton Wheat. The Wild Things answered back in the fifth against Crushers starter Jake Repavich. A lead-off home run from Kyle Pollock and a two run double by Roman Collins made it 3-2 Washington. Lake Erie responded back in the fifth when McKeithan hit a two-run home run. His eighth long-ball of the year made it 4-3. All four runs were charged to starter Jake Belinda who earned a no-decision. The Wild Things came back with two runs of their own in the sixth inning. Both runs were charged to reliever Kent Hasler. Lake Erie tied the game in the seventh when pinch hitter Kewby Meyer lifted a sacrifice fly to score Aaron Hill from third. Seth Lucio…
