O’FALLON, MO – The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy, bounced back with a 3-2 win over River City (9-4) on Saturday night. Led by Sean Renzi (2-1) and a home run from Dalton Wheat, Lake Erie (9-5) evened the series with the first place Rascals. The Crushers took an early lead in the second inning courtesy of Wheat. After homering in the ninth inning on Friday night, the Crushers outfielder went deep to right-center against River City starter Scott Grist (2-1). Lake Erie manufactured a run in the fourth after an infield single from Aaron Hill. Wheat followed with a single, allowing Hill to advance to third. Bryan DeLaRosa knocked in Hill with a chopper to shortstop, making it 2-0. On the mound Renzi was dealing. The right-hander cruised through the first three innings. In the fourth he allowed a leadoff double to Mike Jurgella, who later advanced to third on a balk. Zach Lavy grounded out to second but Jurgella scored, cutting the deficit in half. Renzi went six innings, while allowing just the one run on five hits. He struck out six and didn’t issue a walk. He has struck out 26 over his first three starts.…
