Joliet Takes Game Two Over Lake Erie

Joliet, IL — The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy beat the Lake Erie Crushers 10-3 Saturday night.  Lake Erie started the scoring with Cody Lenahan hitting a two-run single to give the Crushers a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.   Joliet quickly responded with five runs in the bottom of the first headlined by a three-run home run from Travis Bolin making it 5-2 Slammers.   The Slammers scored two more in the bottom of the third when Trey Fulton scored on a throwing error.  Chaz Meadows hit a sacrifice fly making it 7-2 after the third inning.   Justin Garcia hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th that would help the Slammers cap off a 10-3 win.   Tonight’s Merchants and Manufacturers Bank Player of the Game is Trenton Hill who went 2-4 with a run, an RBI and a walk.  Hill has been on a tear for the Slammers.  Over the last seven days Hill has gone .417/.481/.583 with ten hits, five runs and seven RBIs.      After tonight’s win the Slammers are 24-20 and are in contention in the competitive Frontier League East Division.  The Slammers are neck and neck with the Schaumburg Boomers and trail…
