GATEWAY SIGNS THREE PLAYERS FOR 2021 SEASON

The Gateway Grizzlies are beginning to build their roster for 2021 with the signings of RHP Andrew Bash, RHP Mac McCarty and C/1B Nick Gatewood. Andrew Bash, a 24 year old right handed pitcher was a 30th round pick of the Los Angeles Angels in the 2019 amateur draft spent last season in the Angels rookie league where he went 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA in 14 games. Prior to being drafted Bash played at California Baptist where he was a two-way threat hitting .320 over three seasons and winning 20 games with a 2.68 ERA. Mac McCarty, 22, spent two years at VCU before moving on to the University of Alabama-Birmingham. During the 2020 season McCarty dominated over 16 innings, picking up five saves and giving up only three hits over 16 innings. Nick Gatewood, 23, Catcher/1st Baseman was drafted in the 11th round by the San Diego Padres…
