EVANSVILLE’S RILEY KRANE AND WINDY CITY’S TYLER THORNTON TAKE HOME WEEKLY AWARDS

Evansville Otters first basemen Riley Krane and Windy City ThunderBolts right-hander Tyler Thornton have won this week’s Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. These awards are chosen by Pointstreak, who is the official statistical provider of the Frontier League.   Krane takes home the award for the first time since he won it back in 2019 with the Joliet Slammers. In the opening game against Schaumburg, and two games against Équipe Québec on Saturday, Krane picked up six hits, scored five runs, hit two home runs, and drove in six RBI. He finished the opening weekend with a .545 batting average.   The 26-year old is in his fourth season in the Frontier League, and in his first season with Evansville after playing 2019 with Joliet, and 2017-18 with Windy City.
