BOOMERS’ PATRICK O’SULLIVAN HIRED BY SAN DIEGO PADRES

The Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, are pleased to announce that Patrick O’Sullivan has been named the new Hitting Coach for the Dominican Summer League Padres, the rookie league affiliate of the San Diego Padres based in the Dominican Republic. O’Sullivan spent the 2016 season as the hitting coach for the Schaumburg Boomers and served five years in the same position with the Southern Illinois Miners and Rockford Aviators. During the 2016 season, O’Sullivan coached Boomers outfielder Paul Kronenfeld to a Frontier League top 10 spot in home runs with 10 and a start in the Frontier League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. As O’Sullivan prepares for the new transition, he reflects back with great admiration on the coaches and players that he had the opportunity to coach under, including Schaumburg’s Manager, Jamie Bennett, and Pitching Coach, Tony Smith. “I have a great amount of appreciation and gratitude to the Schaumburg Boomers organization, Jamie Bennett, the Salvi Family, and Pete Laven.
