VETERAN SALAZAR NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders LHP Richard Salazar (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 28. Salazar made a pair of starts this week, and improved his 2017 record to 3-0. On Tuesday, the veteran Venezuelan tossed six strong innings at the Trois-Rivieres Aigles, helping the Boulders to a 3-2 win. Salazar allowed two runs on four hits, striking out seven in the outing. He returned to the mound on Sunday, working seven innings against the Quebec Capitales at home. Salazar allowed one run on nine hits, and did not walk a batter. He struck out six Capitales as the Boulders cruised to a 4-1 win.
