After the Quebec Capitales erased the Ottawa Champions’ early lead, a sixth-inning sacrifice fly from 1B Alexander Malleta ultimately made the difference in the Champions’ 4-3 win. Ottawa jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after DH Derrick Pyles (pictured) and RF Kenny Bryant hit back-to-back RBI singles in the first inning and Malleta followed with his first RBI sac fly of the game. But the Capitales rallied to tie with a run scored on a balk in the second and RBI singles from 1B Jordan Lennerton and RF Marcus Knecht in the fifth. Pyles, who went 3-for-4 in the game, scored when Malleta lifted a ball to centerfield in the sixth and that proved to be the game-winning run.Elsewhere, New Jersey topped Trois-Rivieres 6-3.
