Baseball America magazine named New Jersey Jackals 1B and 2016 Can-Am League triple crown winner Art Charles its Independent Player of the Year on Friday.Charles is the third consecutive Can-Am League player to win the award, following Rockland C Joe Maloney in 2015 and Quebec 1B/3B Balbino Fuenmayor in 2014, as well as the fifth in league history to win.
