ALVAREZ NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Trois-Rivieres Aigles RHP Edilson Alvarez (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 21. He took the mound on Monday to face the Rockland Boulders, tossing six shutout innings. He scattered four hits and three walks while striking out eight. The Aigles cruised to an 11-0 win. He returned to the mound on Saturday and hurled a complete game against the Ottawa Champions on the road. He allowed one run on six hits and a walk. Alvarez struck out two in a 7-1 win.
