Corner infielder Balbino Fuenmayor (Quebec) has really heated up at Omaha, Kansas City’s top farm club, hitting .378 (14-for-37) his last 10 games to lift his season average to .284 with a .333 on-base percentage. The 2014 Independent Player of the Year (Baseball America) has two homers and 15 RBI in the comeback from serious injury the second half of last season, and could become a candidate for the Royals as they seek fulltime replacement for the offense lost through a season-ending ACL injury to third baseman Mike Moustakas.
