T-BONES’ RELIEVER ELLINGTON HEADED TO MARINERS ORGANIZATION

MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Kansas City T-Bones have sold the contract of RHP Brian Ellington to the Seattle Mariners’ organization, the American Association announced Wednesday, July 31. Ellington is the 34th  American Association player to have his contract purchased by a Major League organization in 2019. In 12 relief appearances with the T-Bones, Ellington allowed just two runs one earned over 15 innings of work. The dominant righty allowed just six hits and walked just two while striking out 15 over that span. The 28-year-old began his professional career in 2012 after being drafted in the 16th round of the MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins. Ellington spent eight seasons in the Marlins’ organization, making his major league debut in 2015. Ellington posted a 2.88 ERA over 25 innings pitched with the Marlins in 2015 and a 2.45 ERA over 33 innings pitched in 2016. Ellington also threw 44.2 innings…
