Professional Independent Minor League Baseball Championships
The three teams are:
- Kansas City T-Bones: this is their first American Association championship, with the team’s only other championship coming from their days in the Northern League
- Sussex County Miners: this is their first Can-Am League championship, with the Sussex County Skyhawks winning the Can-Am title back in 2008
- Joliet Slammers: this is their second Frontier League championship, with the first being back in 2011
