Edinburg Texas Council Opens Bidding For Stadium

The Edinburg (TX) City Council opened up the bidding process for the lease payments to the city’s baseball stadium.  A local article came out and said that this is due to the missed payments during the season, but that the payments were made and are up to date.

The article states that this season’s late payments by the parent company of the Edinburg Roadrunners (2012 NAL United League division champions) had happened in previous years; and that this triggered the cancellation of the stadium lease.  There is no word on if the NAL/ULB proposal will be accepted or if they are looking at previous options such as the American Association (as mentioned in the article) due to having other independent teams in the area.
