HIGH POINT, N.C. – Scott Rouse, a right-handed pitcher for the High Point Rockers, had his contract purchased by the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. Rouse becomes the second Rockers pitcher this week to be acquired by an MLB organization, joining LHP Win Scott who went to the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.
Rouse, a reliever, was in his second season with the Rockers, having joined the team in July 2025. The former University of Kentucky pitcher had made four appearances with High Point this season, striking out seven and walking three in 6.2 innings of relief.
Rouse becomes the 54th Rocker to have his contract purchased by an MLB organization or international league, the second this week, and the fifth this season, joining catcher Lyle Lin (Japan), RHP Jose Atencio (Los Angeles Angels), infielder Murphy Stehly (Minnesota Twins) and LHP Win Scott (Detroit Tigers).
A native of Hinckley, Ohio, Rouse started his collegiate career at Ohio Dominican University before moving on to Radford for two seasons. He spent his final college season at Kentucky where he went 4-2 with 48 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.
The Rockers will entertain the York Revolution on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. at Truist Point in the third game of a six-game homestand.
