When most people think about Minor League Baseball games, they usually think about the wild and funny promotions!

There are different types of promotions across independent baseball.  Here are some of the categories:

  • Day Of The Week promotions (Thirsty Thursday, Fireworks Friday)
  • Food-related promotions ($1 Hot Dog Night)
  • On-field promotions (Dizzy Bat Race, Dot Race)
  • Special Appearances (The Famous Chicken, post-game concerts)
  • Giveaways (Free T-shirt Night, Free Baseball Card Night)
  • Redneck Weekend (including the “Redneck Olympics”)
  • Free ticket nights when a sponsor buys out the stadium and gives away tickets for the evening
  • Post-game promotions (Kids get to run the bases after games)

In addition, there are some rather unique promotions offered by certain teams each year!
Previous independent baseball seasons have produced the following promotions:

  • a casket race to determine the winner of a free funeral service
  • “A Monkey Can Do That Night”
  • “Love Boat Night” spoofing the Minnesota Vikings PR fiasco
  • Bud Selig Seat Cushion Night
  • Pay Your Mortgage Night
