MARTIN’S BLAST LIFTS GOLDEYES TO VICTORY

July 21 Afternoon Recaps Winnipeg 5, Kansas City 4 – Box Score First baseman Kyle Martin blasted a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to give Winnipeg a 5-4 lead and the Goldeyes would go on to win by that same score. With the victory, Winnipeg took two out of three in the series. Martin had a tremendous game at the plate going 3-for-4 with two home runs and driving in all five of Goldeyes’ runs. Winnipeg SS Wes Darvill scored a pair of runs while 2B Alex Perez collected two hits in four at-bats. In total, the Goldeyes had seven hits in the contest. Winnipeg pitcher Justin Kamplain tossed two scoreless innings of relief and grabbed the victory. The southpaw gave up no hits and three walks to go with two strikeouts.
