On record-setting night, Dogs sweep Milkmen for the first time since 2019

The Dogs offense did not hold back, scoring eleven runs on twenty hits, sweeping the Milwaukee Milkmen for their first sweep of the season. Five different Dogs players had multi-hit games, including Reggie Pruitt Jr., the former Milkman, and Johnni Turbo, making just his third appearance of the season. Brantley Bell stole the show, hitting safely in all six of his plate appearances, setting a new Chicago Dogs record for most hits in a game, and tying the American Association record, completed only twice in history. Bell boosts his season average back up to .329, including six doubles, three of which he hit on Thursday night, tying the Dogs record for most doubles in a single game as well. He drove in three and scored twice through his six hits. The win went to Dogs closer Jacob DeLabio, who came in with two outs in the top of the 8th inning, throwing one pitch to get the out. After a fireworks delay at 9:32 pm, J.C. Keys emerged from the bullpen to collect his first save of the season. Dwayne Marshall also threw 2.2 scoreless innings, as the Dogs held on to win 11-8. The Dogs hit the road for the first of nine straight away games tomorrow, with first pitch at the U.S. Steel Yard scheduled for 6:45 pm. After three in Gary, the Dogs head to Cleburne for a six-game series in the heat in Texas. All Chicago Dogs games are streamed, live and free on aabaseball.tv.
