Dogs move on after sweeping DockHounds

In what can only be described as a classic playoff baseball game on Friday night, the Chicago

Dogs won 4-0 on the road in Lake Country to sweep the DockHounds and move on to the

Eastern Division Semifinals.

In the top of the first inning, Jacob Teter reached with two outs on an error, allowing T.J. Hopkins

to get a chance, which he took advantage of, smacking a two-run homer to right field. Chicago

wouldn’t score again until the top of the seventh inning, when Johnni Turbo got a single to land

in left-center field, driving in Dusty Stroup to make it 3-0. The Dogs would tack on one more in

the ninth inning, when Reggie Pruitt doubled home Stroup again, to go up 4-0.

Brady Miller turned into ace material, tossing seven scoreless innings, striking out six hitters,

walking just one, allowing just two hits. J.C. Keys and Jacob DeLabio both threw scoreless

innings, earning a hold and a save respectively. The DockHounds had absolutely no answers for

Chicago pitching.

The Dogs now have to wait to see who they will play in the next round, as Milwaukee and Kane

County are going to Game 3 on Saturday night. Pitching matchups are still TBD. All Chicago

Dogs games are streamed live on aabaseball.tv.
