Dogs Escape No-Hit Bid Late

The Dogs have officially been swept in Gary, dropping game three of the series by a final of 10-0. The Dogs will head home to Chicago where they will host the RailCats prior to their final roadtrip of the season.

Dogs pitching struggled all series, and tonight was not an exception. Starter Brendan Roberts gave up five earned runs, and Donny Tober who relieved him gave up three, plus two unearned. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped there, as Grant Cherry and J.C. Flowers both threw scoreless frames.

The offense was almost nonexistent tonight, as Chicago was being no-hit until two outs in the ninth inning. One walk to Chance Sisco was the only thing separating Deyni Olivero from a perfect game at that point in time. Down to their last out, Dogs leadoff hitter Sam Biller beat out an infield single, and Ethan Wilder followed that with a hit of his own. Olivero then finished off Sisco to end the game, and his complete game.
