UTICA, Mich. – The Utica Unicorns (8-7) came out hot and never looked back in a dominant 6–0 shutout win over the Westside Woolly Mammoths (5-8) on Saturday night at Jimmy John’s Field.
The Unicorns scored five runs in the first two innings, capitalizing on early control issues and wild pitches by the Mammoths. Ryan Enos sparked the offense with a 2-RBI double in the second inning, while Kyle Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, RBI, and walk to lead the charge at the plate.
On the mound, Nick Cosentino tossed 4.0 innings of shutout ball, allowing just four hits and striking out three to earn the win. Ethan Cetton was flawless in relief, retiring six straight batters — four by strikeout — to seal the victory.
The Mammoths threatened in the fourth with runners on second and third, but couldn’t capitalize. They were held to just four hits in the game, all singles except a double from Derek Wood.
