Dogs win second straight, back to .500

The Dogs got their second win in a row, as they defeated the Sioux City Explorers 3-2 in their first matchup of the season. The Dogs offense came up clutch, including the first homer of the year from a Chicago player (Jacob Teter), and the bullpen locked things down for the win. Alex McGarry drove in a run for the second straight game, as a single in the bottom of the third scored Dusty Stroup from second. An inning later, Jacob Teter smacked the first Dogs homer of the season to left-center field, putting Chicago up 3-0. That would prove to be all Chicago needed, as John Baker threw five innings of 1-run ball, followed up by great performances from Will Kincanon, Zach Davidson, and most notably, Austin Marozas, who pitched two nearly perfect innings (one walk), striking out four with his nasty slider. The Dogs are back in action tomorrow for a Tuesday morning game, after winning Game 1 against the Sioux City Explorers. First pitch at Impact Field is scheduled for 10:30 am. Keoni Cavaco gets his first start of the season on a bullpen day, as the Dogs look to obtain a winning record for the first time in 2025. All Chicago Dogs games are streamed, live and free on aabaseball.tv.
