News came out of Edinburg this week about rent due to the city of Edinburg from the Roadrunners independent baseball team. Here are the articles:

It is interesting to note that many municipalities in recent months have taken public steps against independent baseball teams. The Long Beach Armada, Edinburg, and other teams have felt the brunt of cities in recent weeks.
Please leave your comments on this growing trend as it may come down to poor money management on behalf of the teams, a growing backlash against independent baseball, a “cash flow grab” by cities who are desperate for money to meet local budgets, misunderstandings on how the terms of the agreement were to be met, or a number of other scenarios.
If you have legitimate insight on the recent trends then leave your comments; and please provide useful (and preferably objective) information so that other readers can confirm your comments.
