NORMAL, IL – Corey Bass broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run hit in the eighth inning to give the ThunderBolts a 4-2 win over the Normal CornBelters at The Corn Crib Saturday night. Coco Johnson and Riley Krane singled and Kyle Wood walked to load the bases for the ThunderBolts (33-25) in the first inning. They got their first two runs on a bloop single from Tim Zier to jump out to the early lead. Charlie Gillies pitched out of the first, leaving the bases loaded and allowing just the two runs. He settled in and gave up just another four hits in his 7.1 innings in the game. Zac Westcott got off to a great start for the Bolts and did not allow a hit through the first three innings. Normal (28-31) finally got their offense going in the fifth. With one out, Craig Lepre singled, Ty Morris doubled and Diego Cedeno doubled them both home to tie the score. It remained tied into the eighth when Larry Balkwill started a Windy City rally with a walk. Kyle Wood followed with a single and pinch runner Will Krug made it all the way to third. Zier was hit…
