PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Plattsburgh Thunderbirds took game one of the North Country Mayors series in Plattsburgh New York over the Saranac Lake Surge with a 9-6 shootout in where 7 home runs were hit. Jordan Holloman Scott, a former draft pick by the New York Yankees, belted his league leading 4th and 5th home runs to power the Thunderbirds past the Surge. Former Miami Marlins draft pick Zach Sullivan went 2 for 4 with his 1st homer as a Thunderbird and Rookie catcher Tommy Shimchak also hit his first career home run. Thunderbirds were led defensively by starting pitcher Cas Silber who went 7 innings allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10 Surge batters.
