NEARLY-UNTOUCHABLE DONATELLO NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Photo Credit: Le Soleil Newspaper DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Quebec Capitales RHP Sean Donatello (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 8. Donatello was nearly untouchable in three appearances out of the Capitales’ bullpen this week, logging six shutout innings while allowing just two hits and no walks. He struck out nine opposing hitters over the course of his six frames. The Salem, Conn. resident began his week on Tuesday at home against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles, working around a hit to complete a scoreless inning of relief. Donatello struck out two in the inning, but Quebec fell 6-3. He returned to the mound on Thursday in the series finale against the Aigles, and logged a dazzling three innings of relief work. The only batter to reach base against Donatello in the game was courtesy of a hit by pitch, and he struck out four Aigles hitters. The outing helped Quebec keep the game tied at 2-2, and ultimately be in position to earn a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Donatello’s final relief appearance of the week came on Saturday at the Sussex…
