AFTER CAN-AM STINT, MARTIN REACHES OAKLAND'S MAJOR LEAGUE CAMP

The Can-Am League has a new major leaguer–at least for spring training. LHP Jarret Martin, who divided time among Ottawa, Sussex County and Rockland during the 2016 season, has joined the Oakland Athletics organization and been invited to their major league camp in Mesa, AZ next month.Martin, 28, has spent three of his eight professional seasons in Double-A, including last summer when he posted a sparkling 2.04 earned run average for 37 appearances (one start) for San Francisco’s farm club in Richmond starting in June.
