Schaumberg To Go To The American Association?

In an interesting set of events, Gary Southshore RailCats (American Association) owner Pat Salvi will buy the rights to the Schaumberg, Illinois market for a 2012 independent baseball team:

In recent weeks, Alan Oremus – owner of the Joliet Slammers (Frontier League) – had secured the rights to Schaumberg and was planning on having the team originally in the American Association.  Then it was announced that the Schaumberg team likely would be in the Frontier League for 2012.  Now, with Salvi apparently buying the team, it is likely that the Schaumberg market will be back in the American Association.

Once any formal announcement is made for the 2012 Schaumberg market then it will be posted on this site.
