Possible Ottawa Can-Am League Team In 2015

A report out of Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) indicates that the city is considering a proposal to bring back independent baseball in 2015.  The league being named is the Can-Am League.

In recent months, there had been significant interest in Ottawa by AA-affiliated teams and other leagues.  In 2008, the Can-Am League fielded the Ottawa Rapidz.  In 2009, the team was going to be named the Voyageurs; but that team never played an actual game.

As more gets confirmed on this then it will be added to this site.

  1. English speaking Canada doesn’t seem to understand or like this game.

Like to see him go the other direction to see if Frederickton or St. John’s would go for this. They seem more like the kind of laid back areas that would enjoy a slower more pastoral sport in the summer, as opposed to the minor league hockey they already have in the winter. The CanAm dates of play would better fit the climate of the area in the summer, especially if the CanAm can break off of the interleague play with the AA and shorten the schedule back to the US Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Probably need new facilities, however, unless they play soccer as well.
