Newark Bears Overlooked By Yankees

The Newark Bears (Can-Am League) play at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, New Jersey.  A recent article came out from Newark about a territorial dispute between the New York Yankees and the Mets over giving the Yankees Triple-A team a one-year lease at Riverfront Stadium in order to do stadium renovations to their current stadium in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

In recent weeks the Bears have made news with ownership changes, attendance challenges, and a new GM.  Nonetheless, no mention of the Bears was made in the article; and there was no mention of the County Executive turning down the Yankees because the Bears, presumably, would be playing there for the 2012 season.  Should anything further develop then it will be posted once confirmed.
