Mike Shapiro Talks About The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs

Mike Shapiro, team president for the San Rafael Pacifics, publicly confirmed the formation of the new independent professional baseball league called the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball Clubs.  The recent article out of San Marin (CA) County also is the first to mention possible home locations for the Sonoma County Grapes team, which was a travel team in the 2012 North American League.  Those locations include Vallejo and Ukiah California.

  1. On 8/27/2014 I watched the Pacifics play the Mettle. In the top of the 1st inning the Pacifics batter (#28-Matt Kavanaugh) hit a slow roller to the Mettle pitcher (Mettle Owner-Wayne Franklin). Franklin made a poor throw to 1st base and pulled the first baseman far off of the bag in order to catch the ball. Kavanaugh was ruled safe by an error. Unfortunately (and incorrectly) the error was charged to the 1st baseman. Franklin should have been charged with this error.
